​“ वेत्ति पारं सरस्वत्या मधुसूदनसरस्वती ।
मधुसूदनसरस्वत्याः पारं वेत्ति सरस्वती ॥ ”

Only Madhusūdana Sarasvatī knows the supreme extent of Sarasvatī’s wisdom and the utmost bounds of his own learning are known only to the goddess Sarasvatī herself.

The true essence of the verse was reflected in the recent endowment lecture, where Dr. Yamuna Devi Director(Research), The KSRI, introduced the audience to Madhusūdana Sarasvatī’s vast scholarship through her exploration of " GŪḌHĀRTHA DĪPIKĀ ", his renowned commentary on the Bhagavad Gītā, second only to Śrī Śaṅkarāchārya’s bhāṣya.

The lecture presented the Gītā through a fresh yet classical lens, bringing out the philosophical insights of Madhusūdana Sarasvatī with clarity. Her talk highlighted his mastery across many śāstras—Sāṅkhya, Yoga, Nyāya, Vyākaraṇa, Advaita, Mīmāṃsā, Sāhitya and more—showing why he is celebrated as the foremost harmoniser of Bhakti within Advaita Vedānta.

In the firmament of Advaita philosophy, illumined by Śaṅkara like the sun, Madhusūdana Sarasvatī shines like the moon—reflecting and spreading wisdom worthy of his name.

This lecture held on 16 December 2025 at the KSRI, was successfully conducted under the auspices of the Prof. R. Sankari Endowment, Justice R. L. Narasimhan Endowment, and Brahmasri R. Ramasubrahmanya Sastrigal Endowment.
The event was well received by the audience, reaffirming the timeless relevance of the Gītā and the enduring brilliance of Madhusūdana Sarasvatī.
